Instead of relying on a single lifting point, a Spreader Beam creates two lifting points by attaching a sling to either end of a long bar to evenly distribute the weight of a heavy and wide-load. A Lifting Beam absorbs the majority of the stress of a lighter-load with a single attachment at the top of the beam which connects to a crane or hoist and two hooks underneath to lift the load.
